Dear º£½Ç»»ÆÞ Community,

Early Wednesday morning, our º£½Ç»»ÆÞ sign on Ward Circle was vandalized. º£½Ç»»ÆÞPD immediately launched an investigation, and our facilities team began cleaning the sign. By 8:45 a.m., the sign was restored (see before and after images below). By early afternoon, º£½Ç»»ÆÞPD identified a suspect and by 5:00 p.m., a graduate student was arrested. The student will be charged under DC law with destruction of property and subject to university conduct actions as outlined in the student conduct code.

I want to thank º£½Ç»»ÆÞPD and the facilities team for their swift and effective response to this matter. Every day, they are dedicated to our safety and well-being.

We are grateful that this matter was resolved, and it is important for all of us to remain vigilant, exercise good safety awareness, and utilize º£½Ç»»ÆÞ’s safety resources.
